Submissions are now invited for the Shire of Murray’s 2025 Volunteer Recognition Evening on Tuesday 20 May at the Exchange Hotel, Pinjarra.
The event is an opportunity to acknowledge the hundreds of Murray residents who give up their time through formal and informal volunteering to better their community.
To acknowledge the valuable contribution of longstanding volunteers within community organisations, the Shire of Murray will award a Certificate of Appreciation to those who have reached a 5-year, 10-year or 20-year milestone. Submissions are also encouraged for Outstanding Contributions by a volunteer.
A/Shire President, Cr Douglas McLarty said volunteer week provides an opportunity to highlight the important role of volunteers within the community and invites people not currently volunteering to give it a go.
“Volunteers are the backbone of many community organisations and their contribution to the Murray area is vast and incredibly important,” said Cr McLarty.
“We are grateful to have hundreds of volunteers in the Shire who dedicate their time and services to support and connect our community and we look forward to celebrating them and thanking them for their efforts at this event,” added Cr McLarty.
