More than 800 people joined at the Murray River Foreshore for the annual Christmas on the Murray event last week.

Shire President David Bolt said the evening was filled with Christmas cheer and community spirit.

“Each year this event brings our community together to celebrate the joy of Christmas, and that was certainly felt once again this year,” said President Bolt.

The evening was filled with beautiful Christmas carols by the Mandurah Concert Band, the Austin Cove Baptist College student band, and the Butterscotch Quartet. Along with fun Christmas crafts, face painting and local food and beverage options.

The Christmas light installation in the Murray Town Square was also lit and will be sparkling throughout December for everyone to enjoy.

“Thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening. On behalf of Council, I would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year,” said President Bolt.

This event was supported by the Shire of Murray, Lotterywest, Community Bank Pinjarra, Alcoa and South32 Worsley Alumina.
