Dwellingup has been named the host town for the 2025 Sustainable Trails Conference, further cementing the location’s reputation as a world-renowned trail destination.
Taking place between 28 and 30 October 2025, the 2025 Sustainable Trails Conference provides a platform for trail development, management and marketing professionals to network, share ideas, and upskill.
The event is organised by TRC Tourism, Australia and New Zealand’s leading gathering for professionals in the recreation and tourism trails industry and is proudly supported by the Shire of Murray, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA) and Peel Development Commission.
TRC Tourism Director, Janet Mackay said TRC is very excited to be heading to Western Australia for the next Trails Conference.
“Showcasing towns that are leading the way as trails destinations is extremely important to us, and Dwellingup has a fantastic story and trails experience to share. We look forward to seeing you in the wild west of Australia in October 2025,” said Janet.
Shire of Murray President, David Bolt, said the picturesque town of Dwellingup is the perfect host for the high-calibre event.
“Nestled just over an hour from Perth CBD, Dwellingup has transformed from a charming former timber mill town into a dynamic and thriving adventure tourism town with a particular focus on trails,” said President Bolt.
“Known for its breathtaking natural landscapes, Dwellingup offers over 100 kilometres of sanctioned MTB trails and is a destination along the renowned Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail making Dwellingup the town ‘where trails meet’.
Recent investments have led to the development of the Dwellingup Trails and Visitor Centre featuring cutting-edge visitor technology, a themed café, and ample facilities for relaxation and recreation.
In April this year Dwellingup was rewarded with official Trail Town status for its well-developed trails, natural assets, services and infrastructure, cafes, shops accommodation and for its supportive community.
Nestled in the trail town of Dwellingup, participants will enjoy a three-day event that promises engaging keynote speakers, insightful case studies and interactive field trips. They will connect with trail users, designers, planners, land managers and volunteers to explore the future of sustainable trails.
