The 2025 Community Assistance Partnership Fund is now open, allowing not-for-profit organisations to apply for up to $3,000 for community-led projects.
Shire of Murray Chief Executive Officer, Dean Unsworth said the fund helps organisations to develop projects that build and strengthen organisational capacity or sustainability, foster community engagement and participation in community life, and help to create safe and healthy communities.
“The Shire is proud to support local not-for-profit organisations, associations and groups - they are integral contributors to the community and play an important role in enhancing and bolstering community spirit, pride and connection,” said Mr Unsworth.
This will be the first of two opportunities for groups to make an application, with this round open until the 31 March 2025 and the second opening for applications again later in the year.
Funding is available for projects that align with the Shire of Murray’s Council Plan, by fulfilling a community need whilst supporting Murray’s strategic direction.
Alcoa Pinjarra Refinery Manager, Mark Hodgson said this longstanding partnership with the Shire of Murray demonstrates Alcoa's commitment to fostering sustainable growth in communities close by its operations.
“Funding programs like the Community Assistance Partnership Fund are the backbone of community growth, and we’re proud to be able to empower organisations in bringing initiatives to life that positively contribute towards life in Murray,” said Mark Hodgson.
Previous recipients included the Seniors Recreation Council of WA, who used the funding to support the highly anticipated LiveLighter Aged Care Games.
Pinjarra Football and Netball Club Inc, North Yunderup Community Association, OVIS Community Services and the Nanga Music Festival were also among the successful recipients in 2024.
This fund is delivered through a partnership between Alcoa and the Shire of Murray.
