The Shire of Murray celebrated more than one hundred and twenty volunteers at the recent Volunteer Week function on Tuesday 21 May.
Nominees were awarded certificates of recognition for reaching five, 10, 20, and 50-year milestones. Along with many others nominated to receive an award of outstanding contribution.
Shire President David Bolt said this event is a small way that the Shire can give thanks to the volunteers in the community.
“We are lucky to have hundreds of volunteers who contribute greatly to the Shire of Murray, dedicating their time and services to support and connect our community,” said Mr Bolt.
“These long-standing volunteers, along with many others within our community work tirelessly behind-the-scenes, solely for the betterment of our community. And for that we are immensely grateful,” he added.
The event was held at the Edenvale Heritage Precinct with support from Lotterywest and Volunteering WA.
