Camping Approval Up to 90 Days

• Land Owner Approval/Proof of Land Ownership
• A plan of facility showing:
• Sites and types of sites
• Buildings
• Roads and paths
• Drainage and waste water disposal systems
• Location of fire hoses, fire hydrants and extinguishers
• Location of natural features

Conditions for Approval

• Applicants must own or have a legal right to occupy the land. Approval will be for the land to be used for camping for a period of up to 90 days per year.
• The following minimum facilities are required, either on-site, or advise people beforehand to provide these within their self-contained portable camping arrangement: toilet facilities that are environmentally responsible, provision of suitable ablutions for handwashing and dishwashing and potable water and lighting.

Compliance issues

The general expectation is for:

1. Property to be maintained in a neat and tidy condition.
2. Noise to be limited to the levels outlined in the Noise Regulations.
3. Measures taken generally to prevent causing a nuisance of any kind.
4. Camping is not to unduly affect the amenity of the area, of detrimentally affect the health, safety and wellbeing of people.
5. The Shire may revoke any camping approval should it be determined that the approval is not being carried out within the provisions of this Guideline or any other relevant legislation.
6. The Shire reserves the right to revoke the approval based on any complaints received that in the Shire’s opinion, unduly affect amenity, or on any other grounds that the Shire deems necessary to protect health, safety and wellbeing of people.
