Votive Bird Forms & Shrines - Patricia Hines Art Exhibition

Sunday 1st September 2024
(Multiple Dates Between Sunday 1st September 2024 & Sunday 29th September 2024)

Patricia Hines pays homage to Australian native birds in this exhibition of three-dimensional ceramics and mixed media works.

Displayed in the recently renovated, heritage-listed Saint John’s Church in Pinjarra, this exhibition is a meditation on the fragility of native birds and their habitats. Using sculptural and representational images, this exhibition explores both the humour and joy brought forth by interactions with these creatures.

Hines’ works include flocks of wings, which are an encounter with the memory of birds, as well as decorative and votive works, using embossed images taken from tombstones from Saint John’s Church graveyard.

This event is part of IOTA: South Metro & Peel Connections.
