About the Role

The Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre (MALC) are on the hunt for fitness trainers who are passionate about meeting members, creating relationships and helping clients to achieve their results. We currently require crew to cover shifts on Monday, Wednesday & Fridays from 7am – 11.30am, and 3.15pm – 5:45pm Friday's. As a staff member you will also be able to build a base of personal trainer clients to supplement your base hours and further help our customers and members reach their goals. If you also want to deliver Group Fitness classes, this only enhances the opportunities for you at the MALC.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking fitness assessments and encouraging members to keep these up throughout their membership;
  • Be able to produce great gym programs to ensure members have the freshness, motivation and direction to keep them hitting their goals;
  • Delivering inductions, sale tours and the occasional sign up of new members;
  • Undertaking follow up calls with members, checking how they are tracking and providing ideas to help members with their workouts and goals;
  • Providing gym floor supervision, demonstrating proper exercise instruction & coaching, correcting technique and motivating during a training session. You should have great knowledge of training techniques and be able to provide appropriate exercises for client's goals, as well as being able to provide modifications for various fitness levels and/or injuries.
  • Undertaking small group training programs and personal training;
  • Taking pride in gym cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure the gyms presentation is as good as it can be; and
  • Some administration duties and using fitness and member software programs.

We require the successful applicant to have a minimum of Cert 3 & 4 in Fitness, current First Aid and a Working with Children Check. The position/s will commence as casual, however could progress to permanent over time.
