Group Fitness Instructors/Personal Training/Gym Instructor (Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre)
Do you have a passion for fitness and creating great experiences? The Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre (MALC) is seeking group fitness instructors and personal trainers to help deliver unforgettable experiences that motivate and deliver results for members.
The team is specifically looking for instructors qualified in Les Mills Body Pump and Spin. Instructors with other group fitness qualifications will also be considered for potential inclusion in the class timetable.
This is a casual position, working as per roster requirements. MALC offers competitive Instructor rates depending on qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
The successful applicant will have the following:
- GEL accreditation or current Group Fitness accreditation (e.g. Fitness Australia)
- Accreditation with Les Mills and/or other industry authority
- Current Provide First Aid certificate
Responsibilities of the roles include:
- Undertaking fitness assessments and encouraging member motivation to achieve set goals
- Developing gym programs that provide direction, inspiration and motivation for members
- Delivering inductions, sale tours and the occasional sign-up of new members
- Communicating with members to gauge how they are progressing on their fitness journey and to provide feedback and assistance on goals and fitness options
- Supervision of the gym floor, including demonstrating proper technique where necessary and offering advice on modifying training to suit the abilities of gym patrons
- Undertaking small group training and personal training
- Maintaining a clean and safe gym by routinely cleaning the gym and performing minor maintenance tasks
- Administration duties using fitness and members software programs

Lifeguards (Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre)
About the Role

The Shire of Murray is seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of lifeguard on a casual basis. Working at the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre, the successful applicant will ensure customers using the aquatic facilities are supervised at all times, and that water safety is continuously upheld.
As the Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre is open seven days a week, hours of work may be rostered from Monday to Sunday inclusive (including early morning and evening work).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will have:
- Current Pool Lifeguard Certificate
- Resuscitation and/or Provide CPR Certificate
- Provide First Aid Certificate
- Experience working in an aquatic leisure environment is desirable

Swim School Instructor (Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre)
About the Role
The Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre (MALC) is looking for enthusiastic swimming teachers to join our fantastic group of instructors.
MALC is aiming to build upon a strong history of learn-to-swim development, through program refinement and greater professional development for staff. The MALC Learn to Swim program is Royal Life Saving and AustSwim endorsed, ensuring high standards and commitment to teaching outcomes.
Relief and potential ongoing shifts will be available for both morning and afternoon shifts, and lessons operate from Tuesday to Saturday servicing both infants and stage levels. This opportunity is open to all teachers regardless of the level of experience with on-the-job training provided.
Swim instructors with specialist qualifications are also encouraged to apply as it is hoped to deliver future Swim School program designed for varying community needs.

Customer Service Officer (Murray Aquatic and Leisure Centre)
- Cash handling
- Proven customer service skills

- Intermediate computer skills
- Knowledge of Swim School Bookings system and formal training in customer service is highly desirable
Murray Library Officer
- A current unrestricted C-class national driver’s license
- Provision of current National Police Clearance and Working With Children Check
- Knowledge/experience of office processes
Parks and Gardens Officer
- Demonstrated practical experience in gardens maintenance procedures (eg. landscaping, mowing, reticulation, ground/turf care, weed control etc)
- Experience in the safe use and maintenance of associated plant and machinery (eg. mowers, whipper snippers, chainsaws, etc)
- Ability to work within a team environment and maintain positive relationships with supervisors and peers
- Hold a current unrestricted HR class national driver’s license
- Formal qualifications in horticulture or similar, experience in a similar position within Local Government and a Current Apply First Aid Certificate will be highly regarded
Civil Works – Plant Operator
- Practical knowledge and experience applicable to civil works construction and maintenance operations
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the safe operation and user maintenance of multiple plant and machinery and associated minor equipment and materials
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card)
- Hold a current unrestricted HR class national driver’s licence
- Traffic Management accreditation and Doggers and Riggers qualifications will be highly regarded
Youth Activity Officer
About the role
Youth Activity Officers facilitate a positive, safe and supportive environment for young people accessing Shire of Murray youth programs and events and facilitate and supervise all young people participating in group programs, activities and events delivered by the Shire of Murray Community Development team.
About you
The Shire of Murray offers a range of activities for young people and are looking for individuals with a passion for working with young people to provide a variety of activities, which may include arts, sport, gaming, life skill workshops and pop-up events.
This is a casual pool position, working as per roster requirements and will involve after school and weekends as well as occasional day time hours.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will ideally have relevant post-secondary qualifications or working towards completion e.g. Youth Studies, Sport and Recreation Studies, Education, Mental Health.
A driver’s license is an essential requirement for this position. A Working with Children Check and Police Clearance must be provided for this position.
Experience in supervising groups of young people on activities and the ability to work unsupervised at times is essential to this role.
